The North Fulton Express Network will honor 10 women who live or work in the north Fulton area at its fifth annual Phenomenal Women of North Fulton Awards Luncheon.

“These are women who give back to the community,” said Carol Grote, Phenomenal Women of North Fulton chairperson. “Whether it’s part of their profession or voluntary, these are unsung heroes in the community.”

The network, which is a part of the American Business Women’s Association, will honor the women at a luncheon March 10 at the Roswell Founders Hall on Canton Street.

“These women may get a little ‘attagirl response, but it’s nice to be recognized in a big way,” Ms. Grote said.

A few of the women being recognized are Dotty Etris, Bella Capelli the Salon Spa owner Nancy Boyk, Janet Liberman, Roswell City Administrator Kay Love, and Carolyn Mattingly.

Ms. Etris, the executive director of the Roswell Convention and Visitors Bureau, said she had no idea she was nominated for the award.

“I was completely and totally shocked,” she said.

“But I’m very honored.”

Ms. Mattingly, who founded Roswell’s Advantage Senior Care Inc., said she believes success and happiness begin with having a servant’s heart.

“It is a special honor to be recognized for my passion of, not only serving seniors and their families within my local agency, but helping others establish quality, independent agencies within the Southeast,” she said.

Ms. Liberman, the executive director of Keep Roswell Beautiful, has been involved in the American Business Women’s Association since 1994.

“I am overwhelmed by the honor. I have volunteered and tried to give back to my community since I was a Brownie Scout in Illinois,” she said.

“I think giving your time to help your community is one of the greatest gifts a community can receive.”

Ms. Grote said each of the women being honored this year go over and above the call of duty to serve the north Fulton area.
